The demands of election week has kept me away from the blog - and I've been prompted into action again today by comments about 'lazy bloggers' who start off with a head of steam only to tail off when the interest dies down.
My purpose in starting this blog - perhaps naively - was to give readers the opportunity to question editorial decisions and to help make the Echo a more interactive platform.
I also want to give readers the opportunity of seeing what goes on behind the headlines and stories.
Having not blogged for a week or so, my inbox today was quite horrendous.
But no, these weren't comments about our election coverage.
Not even the farce of the election copy supplied to us by the Press Association news agency which had supposedly-joke candidates names, were not marked tests and, you guessed it, ended up in one of our editions.
To worsen matters they named one of the candidates Amanda Mellons.
No, according ot my blog in box, the big issue of the day is 'Dig Your Site - See Inter-Racial Girls ripping skirts off'.
I was tempted to look - only in the interests of journalism, you understand - but didn't have the time as I had to dash off to the launch of building work on the St David's 2 site.
Afterwards I was one of dozens gazing out of the window of the Cineworld complex at the site from above.
Somehow, the view from street level does not get close to capturing the size of the site - it's absolutely huge.
And as council leader Rodney Berman reminded us, it is set to fire Cardiff up into the top five of shopping centres in Britain.
