Today's paper is a good mix of serious news and great people stories.
Today's page one decision was a straight choice between the story of Bridgend council's new chief executive who joins the council and then takes maternity leave and a couple of protesters who managed to shut down Cardiff Castle yesterday.
We decided to splash on the maternity story as we felt that it was the more significant story in that this local authority has been through tough times recently and have great hopes of restoring their good name through Dr Jo Farrar, who is the assistant chief exec at Cardiff.
While it is obviously fantastic news for Jo and her family it is a very significant development for a local authority that is crying out for new leadership.
Jo is quite open about the situation and her take on it is that it provides a great role model and shows off Bridgend Council in a good light.
The castle protest story is quite a strange one. How on earth did a couple of Palestinian protesters manage to shut down one of our prime tourist attractions? I wish these protesters would come up with more constructive ways of addressing their issues.
Last night we were at the Cardiff City fans forum at the Marriott where we heard Peter Ridsdale and David Jones express their views on a number of subjects including ground-sharing with the Blues, plans for an artificial pitch and a new club badge. It makes an interesting read for City fans.

Just met a Cardiff fan here in Dublin asking about Jason Byrne. He was shocked to hear that he won the golden boot here for the last three years in a row. Its unbelievable that no English clubs have come in sooner.
Before he joined Shelbourne, he played for my beloved Bray Wanderers. he left after we were relagated down to the first division for the biggest team in the country. This obviously left a bad taste in the mouth. He promised he'd always be back. We took nothing from it.
Sure enough, every week Shels were playing on a different night, Jason was out watching the Wanderers. Now how often do you hear of that!?!
The Wolves game was just a glimpse of what he can do. Wait untill he gets fit. (don't forget he was on his holidays!)
You'll also soon find out that you signed a top bloke. Good luck for the season. Everyone at Bray will keeping an eye out for the Bluebirds!
